The Quebec City Airport project presented many challenges. First of all, Artopex had to respond to the designer’s requirements. To meet their expectations, we redesigned certain standard products. We also went one step further to developed new products specifically for the project.
Another challenge was to respect the investments made by the Quebec City Airport with Artopex in 2008. Many of the existing products were updated and integrated into the project, providing significant savings for our client.
The project’s goal was to combine comfort with design. The furniture had to be practical for passengers and connected to current technology.
The result is an open and elegant space. Voyager beam seating is found near the departure gates. For longer waits, passengers can sit comfortably and plug into Cuadro and Downtown lounge seating. To benefit from the view, Crema stools are placed facing the windows and for a more contemplative space, passengers can sit on Frill chairs, adapted specifically for this project. For more privacy, a space surrounded with frosted Sky Architectural Walls was designed for nursing mothers.
The solutions for the project were found through collaboration between Artopex, the designer and the client. We are proud to say that the expectations were met!
