Les Grands Ballets Canadiens of Montreal recently inaugurated “Espace Danse” in the Wilder Building, a new international hub for creation and innovation in dance, in the heart of Montreal’s Quartier des spectacles. The appointed designer for the project was given the mandate to renovate the space and to collaborate with a furniture manufacturer that demonstrates a commitment towards the client and an understanding the specific limitations of the building.
Artopex is pleased to be a sponsor and collaborator of this project.
The Take Off collection with height-adjustable tables was chosen for the private offices to provide a “sit-stand” workspace. In the open office space, the clean lines of the Air Line desks as well as the colorful Element lounge seating inject a stimulating rhythm and energy into the space. For ergonomic comfort, the designer chose Vortex Mesh task chairs to pair with the desking throughout the space and Headliner lite visitor seating with the Take Off meeting table. Two conference and training rooms were also created.
In the employee cafeteria, Downtown tables and Xpresso seating add an aesthetic touch at two levels – both chair and stool height. The result is a space that appears in continuous movement with its delicate lines and colors, mirroring the art of ballet.
Over 400 professionals will converge in the space offering a host of new services to dance professionals and the general public. An essential link in the dance and cultural sectors in Montreal and the province of Quebec, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal continue to focus on their mission of training, experimentation and innovation.
